| Renungan hari ini dari bacaan Kejadian 37:3-4. 12-13. 17-28; Matius 21:33-43, 45-46. “Sebab itu Aku berkata kepadamu, bahwa Kerajaan Allah akan diambil dari padamu dan akan diberikan kepada suatu bangsa yang akan menghasilkan buah Kerajaan itu.” (Matius 21:43) |
Dalam setiap kegiatan, ada batasan waktunya. Umumnya kegiatan itu dilengkapi dengan pertanggungjawaban yang memberikan informasi tentang kegiatan yang sudah dilaksanakan, pengelolaan sumber daya, kendala atau tantangan yang dihadapi dan prestasi yang berhasil dicapai. Dalam kegiatan keagamaan, pemberi mandat mungkin adalah anggota, wilayah, paroki atau hirarkis yang lebih tinggi. Namun, sesungguhnya Tuhanlah pemberi mandat tertinggi. Kepada-Nya pertanggungjawaban secara spiritual ditujukan. Tuhan memberikan kepercayaan dan kesempatan untuk melayani umat-Nya. Prakarsa dan perintis dilakukan oleh pribadi terpilih dan istimewa, namun umat Tuhan, adalah milik Tuhan. Dia juga berhak menetapkan orang tertentu yang akan mengawasi, memberikan saran, kritik bahkan teguran kepada para penerima mandat. Dalam banyak kisah Perjanjian Lama, peran ini dipegang oleh para nabi.
Ketika penerima mandat tidak bertanggungjawab dalam menjalankan tugas, atau punya maksud yang menyimpang, maka ‘pengawasan’ tidak lagi diterima dengan sukahati, karena ada rasa khawatir ketidak-beresannya akan terungkap. Ini amat jelas tergambar dalam perumpamaan yang disampaikan Yesus tentang petani penyewa kebun anggur. Mereka menolak kewajiban membayar sewa lahan, dengan menganiaya dan bahkan membunuh utusan dari tuan pemilik lahan. Dua kali terjadi demikian. Ketika anak dari tuan pemilik tanah itu diutus, mereka melihatnya sebagai kesempatan untuk melenyapkan ahli waris, supaya dapat menguasai kebun anggur itu, untuk menjadi milik mereka. Karena umat Allah biasa diasosiasikan sebagai kebun anggur (Yes. 5:1-2), maka imam-imam kepala dan orang-orang Farisi yang mendengar perumpamaan itu, mengerti bahwa merekalah yang disindir Yesus. Lalu mereka mencari jalan untuk menangkap Yesus, tetapi mereka takut kepada orang banyak yang menganggap Dia nabi (Mat. 21:45-46).
Dalam bacaan yang lain, ditunjukkan bahwa karakter pengawas dan pemberi mandat juga menentukan dinamika relasi yang akan terjadi. Israel memberikan tugas penggembalaan kambing domba miliknya kepada anak-anaknya. Pada masa itu tugas gembala cukup berat. Untuk mencarikan makanan dan minuman, gembala menggiring ternaknya ke lokasi yang jauh. Belum lagi, risiko berhadapan dengan perampok atau serangan binatang liar. Karena itu, Yusuf anak kesayangan yang paling dikasihi Israel, hampir selalu ada di dekatnya. Adakalanya Yusuf diutus untuk melaporkan kegiatan saudara-saudaranya. Sikap pilih kasih ayahnya itu dan peran ‘pelapor’ yang dilakukan oleh Yusuf, membuatnya tidak disukai oleh saudaranya yang lain. Ketika hal itu memuncak, terjadi persekongkolan untuk membunuhnya. Ruben mencoba menyelamatkan Yusuf dengan usul memasukkannya ke sumur kering. Tetapi, kemudian Ruben pergi, dan tidak memonitor rencananya. Akhirnya Yehuda berupaya menyelamatkan Yusuf, dengan usul menjualnya ke pedagang Midian yang sedang menuju ke Mesir.
Kedua bacaan hari ini, mengajak kita untuk bijaksana bersikap ketika berada dalam posisi penerima atau pemberi mandat atau sebagai pengawas dan utusan. Sikap pilih kasih, menciptakan kondisi relasi yang buruk dan mendorong timbulnya niat-niat jahat. Diperlukan kejelian dalam menilai situasi dan mengambil keputusan. Tetapi, perlu disadari bahwa bekerja di ladang Tuhan, bukan untuk menjadikannya milik pribadi atau memuaskan kesombongan diri. Sebagai utusan, pembawa pesan Tuhan, dibutuhkan ketaatan dan keteguhan, karena seringkali menghadapi ancaman aniaya bahkan kematian. Tuhan adalah pemberi mandat tertinggi, maka kemuliaan dan pertanggungjawaban juga ditujukan kepada-Nya.
Mari kita selalu berupaya setia dan bertanggungjawab, ketika diberikan kesempatan untuk bekerja di ladang Tuhan.
