| Renungan hari ini dari bacaan Kisah Para Rasul 20:17-27; Yohanes 17:1-11a “Aku telah memuliakan Engkau di bumi dengan menyelesaikan pekerjaan yang Engkau berikan kepada-Ku untuk Kulakukan” (Yoh. 17:4). |
Ayat ini adalah bagian dari doa Yesus menjelang penderitaan dan penyaliban-Nya. Dalam pasal 17, Yesus berbicara kepada Bapa dengan nada yang sangat pribadi. Ia tidak sedang berbicara tentang diri-Nya sendiri, melainkan berdoa bagi orang-orang yang telah Ia layani selama hidup-Nya.
Ia berdoa sebagai seorang utusan Allah, sebagai pengantara antara Allah dan manusia. Yesus berkata, “Aku telah mempermuliakan Engkau,” bukan “Aku mempermuliakan diri-Ku sendiri.” Fokus hidup Yesus selalu tertuju kepada Bapa. Yesus berulang kali menegaskan bahwa Ia datang bukan untuk melakukan kehendak-Nya sendiri, tetapi kehendak Dia yang mengutus-Nya (Yoh. 5:30; 6:38).
Sering kali kita berpikir bahwa satu-satunya cara untuk memuliakan Allah adalah mengucapkan doxology di gereja, atau menaikkan pujian penyembahan dalam persekutuan doa di rumah-rumah jemaat. Namun, kata “mempermuliakan” dalam konteks ini bukan kata-kata pujian semata. Dalam Injil Yohanes, memuliakan Allah dinyatakan melalui kehidupan Yesus yang saleh dan taat kepada kehendak Bapa. Yesus memuliakan Allah dengan menunjukkan seperti apa karakter Allah itu: penuh kasih, benar, kudus, dan setia. Seluruh hidup Yesus menjadi cermin dari Allah yang tidak kelihatan.
Lalu Yesus berkata bahwa Ia telah “menyelesaikan pekerjaan” yang diberikan Bapa kepada-Nya. Ini penting. Hidup Yesus bukan hidup tanpa arah tujuan. Ia hidup dengan kesadaran bahwa satu-satunya tujuan hidup-Nya adalah menyelesaikan misi Allah. Sejak awal pelayanan-Nya, Ia tahu bahwa Ia diutus untuk memberitakan Kerajaan Allah, menyatakan kebenaran, mencari yang hilang, dan akhirnya menyerahkan nyawa-Nya bagi penebusan dosa manusia.
Menariknya, pada saat doa ini diucapkan, penyaliban belum terjadi. Namun, Yesus berbicara seolah pekerjaan itu sudah selesai. Ini menunjukkan niat bulat untuk taat total kepada kehendak Allah. Dalam pandangan Yohanes, perjalanan menuju salib sudah merupakan bagian dari penyelesaian karya itu.
Prinsip yang sama terlihat dalam kehidupan Paulus dalam Kisah Para Rasul 20:18-27. Ketika berbicara kepada para penatua di Efesus, Paulus mengingat kembali bagaimana selama ini ia melayani Tuhan “dengan segala rendah hati.” Ia tidak hidup untuk kepentingannya sendiri. Ia rela menghadapi air mata, penolakan, bahkan ancaman, demi menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan Allah kepadanya.
Paulus berkata bahwa ia tidak menghiraukan nyawanya sendiri, asalkan ia dapat “menyelesaikan pelayanan” yang diterimanya dari Tuhan Yesus. Hidupnya selaras dengan hidup Yesus. Baik Yesus maupun Paulus melihat hidup mereka sebagai sebuah panggilan ilahi yang harus diselesaikan dengan setia.
Yang menarik, Paulus tidak mengukur keberhasilan dari kenyamanan atau popularitas. Ia justru berkata bahwa ia telah memberitakan seluruh maksud Allah tanpa menyembunyikannya. Ia tidak mencari penerimaan manusia, atau pujian bagi dirinya sendiri, tetapi setia kepada kebenaran.
Apa artinya bagi kehidupan kita hari ini?
Banyak orang hidup hanya untuk dirinya sendiri: mengejar pengakuan, kenyamanan, atau ambisi pribadi. Tetapi, Yesus menunjukkan bahwa hidup manusia menemukan maknanya ketika dipakai untuk memuliakan Allah. Kemuliaan Allah bukan hanya dinyatakan lewat ibadah di gereja, tetapi melalui kehidupan yang taat, jujur, mengasihi, dan setia menjalankan panggilan.
Di zaman sekarang, orang cenderung mencari “kemuliaan diri”: ingin dipuji, ingin viral dan menjadi terkenal, ingin dianggap hebat, atau selalu menang dalam perdebatan. Namun, Yesus justru menunjukkan arah sebaliknya. Ia tidak mencari kehormatan bagi diri-Nya sendiri. Bahkan jalan salib menjadi puncak pemuliaan Allah.
Paulus pun memberi teladan serupa. Ia tidak membangun kerajaan bagi dirinya sendiri. Ia tidak menjadikan pelayanan sebagai sarana mencari keuntungan atau pengaruh kekuasaan pribadi. Fokusnya adalah menyelesaikan tugas yang Allah percayakan.
Renungan ini juga mengingatkan bahwa setiap orang memiliki “pekerjaan” yang dipercayakan Allah. Tidak semua dipanggil menjadi pengkhotbah atau pemimpin besar. Ada yang dipanggil menjadi orang tua yang penuh kasih sayang, pasangan yang setia, karyawan yang jujur, pekerja yang ulet, pengusaha yang dermawan, sahabat yang menguatkan, atau pelayan yang tulus. Pertanyaannya bukan seberapa besar pekerjaan kita, tetapi apakah kita setia menjalankannya untuk kemuliaan Allah.
Hidup orang percaya seharusnya kembali berpusat kepada Allah yang satu, seperti Yesus. Yesus sendiri menjadi teladan manusia yang hidup sepenuhnya bagi Allah, dan Paulus mengikuti teladan itu dengan setia.
Karena itu, Yohanes 17:4 mengajak kita bertanya secara pribadi: Apakah hidup saya mempermuliakan Allah atau mempermuliakan diri sendiri? Apakah saya sedang mengerjakan kehendak Allah atau hanya mengejar ambisi pribadi? Jika hari ini hidup saya berakhir, dapatkah saya berkata seperti Yesus dan Paulus bahwa saya telah menyelesaikan pekerjaan yang Allah percayakan?
Kemuliaan sejati bukanlah ketika manusia mengelu-elukan nama kita, melainkan ketika melalui hidup kita, nama Allah dikenal dan dihormati.
