Dalam kisah Yeremia, kita melihat ketulusannya yang tetap setia meski dikhianati oleh orang-orang terdekat. Ia menghadapi ancaman, penolakan, bahkan rencana jahat terhadap dirinya. Namun, ia tidak melawan dengan amarah atau membalas kejahatan dengan kejahatan. Sebaliknya, ia memilih berserah: “Kepada-Mulah kubuka perkaraku.” (Yer. 11:20b). Sikap ini tampak sederhana, tetapi sesungguhnya sangat dalam. Yeremia mengajarkan bahwa iman sejati tidak diukur dari bebasnya seseorang dari masalah, melainkan dari kemampuannya untuk tetap percaya di tengah tekanan.
Di sisi lain, kita melihat Yesus dalam Injil Yohanes juga mengalami konflik dan perpecahan di tengah orang banyak. Ada yang percaya, tetapi tidak sedikit yang meragukan dan menolak-Nya. Namun, Yesus tidak memaksakan kehendak-Nya, tidak mencari pembenaran diri, dan tidak bereaksi dengan emosi. Ia tetap tenang karena percaya penuh kepada Bapa. Dalam ketenangan itu, Yesus menunjukkan bahwa kebenaran tidak perlu dipaksakan, ia akan bersinar melalui kesetiaan.
Dari kedua tokoh ini, kita belajar bahwa mengikuti Kristus memang sering membuat kita berbeda. Nilai-nilai yang kita pegang, seperti kejujuran, kesabaran, pengampunan, dan kasih, tidak selalu diterima oleh lingkungan sekitar. Ada kalanya kita disalahpahami, diabaikan, atau bahkan dijauhi. Dalam situasi seperti ini, godaan terbesar adalah membalas, menyerah, atau menyesuaikan diri dengan arus. Namun, justru dalam perbedaan itulah kita dipanggil untuk menjadi saksi. Bukan untuk menunjukkan bahwa kita lebih baik, tetapi agar melalui hidup kita, orang lain dapat melihat kasih Kristus yang nyata dan hidup.
Kita juga diingatkan untuk tidak mudah panik saat menghadapi masalah. Seringkali kita ingin segera menemukan solusi dengan kekuatan sendiri, merasa harus mengendalikan segala sesuatu. Padahal, Tuhan mengundang kita untuk diam sejenak, berdoa, dan percaya. Berserah bukanlah tanda kelemahan, melainkan bentuk iman yang matang, iman yang percaya bahwa Tuhan bekerja bahkan ketika kita tidak melihat jalan keluar. Ketika kita menyerahkan segala sesuatu kepada Tuhan, kita belajar bahwa waktu dan cara-Nya selalu lebih tepat daripada rencana kita.
Pengalaman pribadi saat gagal masuk universitas yang saya impikan menjadi momen penting dalam perjalanan iman saya. Awalnya saya kecewa dan merasa Tuhan tidak mendengar doa saya. Ada rasa hampa dan kebingungan. Namun, perlahan saya mulai melihat bahwa Tuhan membuka jalan lain yang tidak pernah saya bayangkan sebelumnya. Saya menemukan tempat yang justru membantu saya bertumbuh, bukan hanya secara akademis, tetapi juga dalam iman dan kedewasaan hidup. Dari situ saya mengerti bahwa berserah bukan berarti menyerah, melainkan percaya penuh pada penyelenggaraan Tuhan yang melampaui rencana manusia.
Hari ini, kita diajak untuk tidak takut menghadapi pergumulan hidup. Tuhan mengenal hati kita, mengetahui setiap luka, harapan, dan pergumulan kita. Ia tidak pernah meninggalkan kita. Dalam setiap penolakan atau kegagalan, selalu ada undangan untuk semakin dekat kepada-Nya. Mungkin kita tidak selalu memahami alasan di balik setiap peristiwa, tetapi kita dapat tetap percaya pada Pribadi yang memegang hidup kita.
Maka, marilah kita belajar seperti Yeremia dan Yesus: tetap setia ketika disalahpahami, tetap tenang ketika menghadapi konflik, dan tetap percaya ketika jalan terasa gelap. Dengan demikian, hidup kita menjadi kesaksian yang hidup bahwa di tengah permasalahan, Kristus tetap hadir dan bekerja. Amin.
