| Renungan hari ini dari bacaan 1 Samuel 8:4-7.10-22a; Markus 2:1-12.”Tua-tua Israel berkata kepada Samuel, “Engkau sudah tua dan anak-anakmu tidak mengikuti jejakmu. Sebab itu, angkatlah bagi kami seorang raja untuk memrintah kami, sama seperti semua bangsa lain” (1Sam.8:5) |
Perikop pertama (1 Sam. 8:4-7.10-22a) membawa kita ke situasi pelik yang dihadapi oleh umat Israel zaman itu. Apakah tetap punya nabi seperti sudah turun-temurun di dalam budaya bangsa atau punya raja seperti bangsa-bangsa tetangga.
Ini bagian peristiwa yang dikisahkan oleh tetua Israel di masa pembuangan di Babilonia, 80-100 km di Selatan Baghdad, Irak dewasa ini. Marilah kita memasuki peristiwa ketika dikisahkan, biasanya malam hari, di tepi Sungai Efrat. Suhunya sejuk, sekitar 10o Celcius. Tetua itu mengingat kembali ulangan cerita yang dikisahkan oleh nenek moyangnya. Saat orang-orang Israel melihat kelakuan anak-anak Nabi Samuel yang mengecewakan hati mereka (1Sam. 8:5)
Di Tengah pembuangan, jauh dari negeri mereka, bangsa Israel bukan hanya menderita hidup di negeri asing. Mereka juga sakit mata melihat kelakuan anak nabi yang mereka hormati. Kalau zaman sekarang, kira-kira setara dengan kelakuan sebagian dari anak tokoh-tokoh agama, atau tokoh agama itu sendiri, misalnya kasus oknum imam asal Noemuti TTU yang menghamili gadis Belu.
Nabi Samuel yang gelisah dengan permintaan bangsa Israel berkolokium dengan Allah dan diberi pemahaman dasar yang ditolak oleh bangsa Israel sesungguhnya (1 Sam 8:7-9). Allahlah yang ditolak oleh bangsa Israel. Ini mirip dengan penolakan banyak pemimpin dan influencer zaman ini. Apakah kita juga menolak Allah merajai diri kita masing-masing dalam hidup sehari-hari? Allah yang memberikan kita hidup, bukankah sepantasnya merajai hidup kita? Bukannya gawai, kocek, kekuasaan, kelimpahan harta atau kenikmatan?
Dalam perikop bacaan pertama (1 Sam. 8:4-7. 10-22a) ini Nabi Samuel memerinci konsekuensi memiliki raja. Ini merupakan ringkasan pengalaman mempunyai raja-raja Israel, dan terakhir Raja Yoyakhin yang dikalahkan oleh Raja Nebukadnezar II. Membaca ulang perikop ini membandingkan dengan situasi kita zaman ini beda-beda tipis (beti). Bila setuju relevansi perikop ini pada masa kini, kita juga pasti tahu ada banyak pekerjaan rumah pertobatan yang perlu kita lakukan.
Perikop kedua (Mrk. 2:1-12) menegaskan kehebatan Yesus, pun bila kejadiannya terjadi pada masa kini. Marilah masuk ke dalam peristiwa yang ditulis oleh Markus ini. Bayangkanlah masuk ke Taman Nasional yang dikelola oleh Ordo Fransiskan yang dulu bernama kota Kapernaum, suhunya 13o Celcius. Jumlah penduduknya sekitar 1 Rukun Warga di kota Jakarta saat ini, sekitar 1.500 orang. Orang-orang ini mengerumuni rumah, sehingga tidak ada tempat lagi. Jadilah seorang dari empat orang yang menggotong orang lumpuh (Mrk. 2:3-4). Bayangkanlah kesulitan menurunkan seorang lumpuh dengan tilam dari atap. Juga ada beberapa ahli Kitab Suci yang hadir, entah lulusan dari Sekolah Tinggi Teologi atau Sekolah Tinggi Pastoral atau Kursus Pendidikan Kitab Suci (Mrk 2:6). Dengarkanlah sapaan Yesus kepada si Lumpuh, entah siapa namanya, yang pasti itu kerabatmu, sesuatu tentang pengampunan dosa. Wow… ini sungguh menghebohkan. Ternyata Yesus mengampuni dosa, maka kelumpuhan hilang.
Zaman ini banyak pengikut Kristus seperti orang lumpuh itu. Bukan lumpuh secara fisik, namun lumpuh daya. Tidak mampu menggunakan kompetensi yang dimiliki, kekuasaan yang dimiliki, jejaring yang dimiliki, harta benda yang dimiliki, popularitas yang dimiliki untuk memuliakan Allah.
Kita semua zaman ini adalah orang-orang berdosa yang sudah diampuni dosa dan dibebaskan dari kelumpuhan kita masing-masing serta dipanggil memuliakan Allah bersama orang-orang di Kapernaum itu zaman itu. Zaman ini adalah zaman kita yang memuliakan Tuhan. Tunggu apa lagi?
