| Renungan hari ini dari bacaan Yeremia 17: 5-10; Lukas 16: 19-31 “Diberkatilah orang yang mengandalkan TUHAN, yang mempercayakan dirinya pada TUHAN!” (Yer. 17:7). |
Nabi Yeremia membentangkan dua jalan kehidupan: mengandalkan manusia atau mengandalkan Tuhan. Orang yang mengandalkan dirinya sendiri digambarkan seperti semak di padang gurun: hidup, tetapi kering dan rapuh. Sebaliknya, orang yang mengandalkan Tuhan seperti pohon yang ditanam di tepi air: akarnya kuat, daunnya tetap hijau, dan tidak takut menghadapi musim kering. Firman ini mengajak kita bertanya dengan jujur: kepada siapa sebenarnya kita menaruh harapan?
Sering kali, ketika hidup berjalan nyaman – harta melimpah, jabatan tinggi, kesehatan prima – kita merasa aman dalam kekuatan sendiri. Kita mengira semua yang diraih adalah hasil kerja keras kita semata. Tanpa sadar, hati menjadi sombong. Kita menikmati berkat, tetapi lupa Sang Pemberi berkat. Kita puas dengan diri sendiri, tetapi kurang peka terhadap penderitaan sesama. Inilah akar dosa: keterpisahan dari Allah, ketika manusia tidak lagi menggantungkan hidupnya kepada-Nya.
Kisah orang kaya dan Lazarus dalam Injil menegaskan kebenaran ini. Di satu sisi ada seorang kaya yang setiap hari bersukaria dalam kemewahan. Di sisi lain, di depan pintunya terbaring Lazarus yang miskin, penuh borok, dan berharap remah-remah jatuh dari meja tuannya. Kontras yang tajam ini bukan sekadar soal harta, melainkan soal hati. Orang kaya itu tidak digambarkan melakukan kejahatan besar; ia hanya hidup tanpa belas kasih, tanpa kesadaran bahwa berkatnya adalah titipan Tuhan.
Ketika keduanya meninggal, keadaan berbalik. Lazarus dibawa ke pangkuan Abraham, sedangkan orang kaya itu menderita sengsara. Dalam penderitaannya, orang kaya baru menyadari kekeliruannya. Ia ingin agar saudara-saudaranya diperingatkan supaya bertobat. Namun, Abraham menjawab tegas: “Jika mereka tidak mendengarkan kesaksian Musa dan para nabi, mereka tidak juga akan mau diyakinkan, sekalipun oleh seorang yang bangkit dari antara orang mati” (Luk. 16:31).
Pesannya jelas: kesempatan bertobat ada selama kita masih hidup. Jangan menunggu sampai semuanya terlambat. Allah telah berbicara melalui firman-Nya, melalui para nabi, bahkan melalui Putra-Nya sendiri. Jika hati tetap keras, mukjizat sebesar apa pun tidak akan mengubahnya.
Mengandalkan Tuhan berarti mengakui bahwa segala sesuatu adalah anugerah. Pertobatan yang sejati akan tampak dalam perubahan hidup: hati yang rendah, sikap yang penuh syukur, kasih yang nyata kepada sesama, serta kerinduan untuk taat pada firman Tuhan. Kita belajar berbagi, menolong, dan melayani, karena kita sadar bahwa hidup ini bukan milik kita sepenuhnya.
Puncak pengharapan kita adalah Yesus Kristus. Allah tidak tinggal jauh dari penderitaan manusia. Ia datang ke dunia, mengambil rupa manusia, menanggung dosa dan maut yang seharusnya menjadi bagian kita. Di dalam Dia ada jaminan keselamatan yang sejati. Mengandalkan Kristus berarti menaruh masa depan kita, bahkan hidup kekal kita, di tangan-Nya.
“Diberkatilah orang yang mengandalkan TUHAN.” Berkat itu bukan hanya soal kecukupan duniawi, tetapi kepastian bahwa hidup kita berakar pada Allah yang setia. Di tengah musim kering kehidupan, ada harapan dan jaminan bagi setiap orang yang percaya kepada-Nya.

Tuhan Yesus Kristus, ajarkan kami untuk selalu mengandalkan Engkau. Lembutkan hati kami agar kami mau bertobat, bersyukur, dan mengasihi sesama. Tuntun kami dengan Roh Kudus-Mu agar hidup kami berakar pada-Mu. Amin.
