Menjadi murid Yesus tidaklah mudah. Beberapa waktu yang lalu saya sempat berpikir begitu sulitnya mengikut Yesus. Tidaklah mudah untuk menyangkal diri dan sepenuh hati memikul salib, sampai saya berkata sendiri “Tuhan begitu sulit saya meneladani hidup-Mu.”
Dari bacaan hari ini saya diingatkan kembali, bahwa Tuhan tidak pernah membiarkan kita berjalan sendirian dengan segala kelemahan dan keterbatasan kita sebagai manusia. Namun, penyertaan-Nya selalu ada bersama kita, asalkan kita selalu setia mendengarkan firman-Nya dan taat melakukannya.
Tuhan memerintahkan Abram untuk meninggalkan kampung halaman, sanak saudaranya, dan pergi ke suatu tempat yang ia sendiri tidak tahu di mana dan bagaimana keadaan tempat itu. Apakah tempat itu lebih nyaman dan lebih baik dari tempat tinggalnya saat itu? Apakah aman di sana ? Semua masih tidak jelas bagi Abram. Namun, ia tetap menjalankan perintah-Nya. Abram taat pada perintah Tuhan karena ia percaya. Tuhan berjanji kepada Abram bahwa ia akan menjadi bangsa yang besar, memberkatinya, menjadikan namanya masyhur dan ia akan menjadi berkat bagi banyak orang.
Sekiranya kita menerima perintah seperti Abram, apakah kita akan melaksanakannya tanpa banyak pertanyaan pada Tuhan??? Mari kita refleksikan.
Dalam bacaan Injil hari ini, Matius 17:1-9, di kisahkan tentang tiga murid Yesus: Petrus, Yacobus, dan Yohanes. Mereka dibawa oleh Yesus naik ke sebuah gunung dan di sana mereka menyaksikan transfigurasi Yesus yang menampakan kemulian-Nya. Mereka begitu bahagia melihat Yesus yang berubah rupa. Wajahnya bercahaya seperti matahari dan jubah-Nya menjadi putih berkilauan. Ia sedang berbicara dengan Musa dan Elia. Keadaan yang begitu menakjubkan membuat Petrus spontan menawarkan kepada Yesus, “Tuhan sungguh baik kita berada di tempat ini. Jika Engkau mau, biarlah kudirikan di sini tiga kemah, satu untuk Engkau, satu untuk Musa dan satu untuk Elia (Mat. 17: 2-3). Mereka ingin menikmati kebahagian itu lebih lama.
Namun, Allah mengingatkan mereka untuk mendengarkan Putra yang dikasihi-Nya. Untuk itulah terdengar suara Allah, ketika awan terang tiba-tiba menaungi mereka dan mereka mendengar suara dari dalam awan itu yang berkata:”Inilah anak-Ku yang terkasih, kepada-Nya Aku berkenan, dengarkanlah Dia” (ay 5). Mengapa Yesus mengajak ketiga murid-Nya untuk menyaksikan peristiwa itu???
Yesus ingin membuka mata rohani mereka bahwa Dia memang Mesias yang telah dinubuatkan dalam perjanjian Lama dan jalan keselamatan datang daripada-Nya.
Mendengarkan Dia berarti tinggal bersama-Nya dan melepaskan segala hal yang ditawarkan dunia dan bersama-Nya melewati penyangkalan diri, memikul salib sampai akhir hidup. Selamat menjalani masa retret agung. Tuhan Yesus memberkati.
